Wheelchair, Widow, Warrior: My Story of Strength

Charlie Hovenden, Charlie, Motivation Coach, Success Speaker, Fierce & Unstoppable,Mentoring, Speaking

I am all about REAL LIFE. If you ask me a question, I will tell you the truth whether you like the answer or not. I swear and just say it how it is; I could make the toughest men blush with my language at times. But life is too short for bullshit and wasting time. I like to get straight to the point and fast, if I want something I go and get it.
I have lived with a disability of MS for over half of my life. I am now in a wheelchair, but I don’t let that stop me from having fun and enjoying life with my friends and family. Mostly, I love life and live it to the fullest that I possibly can. I was made a widow at the age of 44, left with two beautiful children and a business to run. There was no time to grieve properly. I cried a lot, but I still stayed strong and positive within myself to achieve what I really wanted in life.
Life is hard and sometimes it’s just downright shit. I was left wondering; will it ever stop? The answer to that question is grief never stops. It’s always there. I have comfort in knowing that our loved ones are always with us. Watching over us and guiding us for our next steps that we need to take. I am living proof that nothing can stop you if you truly want to fulfill your dreams.
I went from being a farm girl, to a bar maid, running a business, raising children and now I am an author and a keynote speaker.
Courage, determination, and stubbornness is how I have made this all happen with the help of great friends and family.
Now I am here to inspire and motivate you to achieve your dreams – that is my new path! I invite you to follow me and be a part of my new legacy and enjoy the ride. Laugh, cry, feel every emotion your body has to offer.
See you on the flip side.
